A parent or guardian stays on site for the whole event — start to finish.
School and camp groups may send one or two adult chaperones for the group instead, as long as they stay the whole day and are responsible for every child in the group.
Why: if a child feels unwell or anything unexpected happens, an adult who knows them is already on site.

What is Saigon Kids Hackathon?
It's a one-day invention marathon for kids. You team up with friends, dream up an idea, and build it — a game, an app, a robot, a website — with mentors beside you the whole way. No grades, no pressure, just making things you're proud of.
We are a non-profit organization — the fee covers the day's costs and nothing more.
No experience needed
Total beginners welcome. If you can imagine it, we'll help you build it.

- A laptop and charger (loaners available — say so at registration)

Rules

- 01Eligibility
Ages 9–16 (Grades 3–11), any school, any experience. A parent or guardian stays on site all day.
- 02Teams
1–3 students per team, cross-school welcome, finalised at check-in.
- 03Challenges
Revealed at 8:45 on the day. Every team picks one and builds for it.
- 04What you can prepare beforehand
Tools, templates and your setup: yes. The idea and the build: on the day.
- 05AI tools
Any free AI tool is welcome. Disclose what you used, and be able to explain your build.
- 06Source code and ownership
Your project belongs to your team. Showcasing it afterwards is always opt-in.
- 07Acceptable content and conduct
Youth-appropriate projects, respect for everyone. Harassment ends your day.
- 08Hardware and safety
Hardware must be safe for a school environment. Ask an organizer if unsure.
- 09Judging and prizes
120 points across 7 criteria. Judges test every project in the judging lab.
- 10Late arrival and submission
Running late? Message an organizer. Submissions close at 16:00 by our clock.
- 11Organizer discretion
Organizers may disqualify for rule-breaking or unsafe behaviour, and will always explain why.

Any kid aged 9–16 (Grades 3–11) who's curious about making things with technology. There are 120 builder spots, first come first served.
Nope! Total beginners are welcome. Mentors will help you every step of the way, and there are beginner-friendly tools for every idea.
A laptop if you have one (we have loaners if you don't), a water bottle, and your biggest idea. We handle everything else.
250,000 VND standard, or 350,000 VND with lunch (a bánh mì) included. Both cover the whole day — snacks, the builders kit, mentors, and the judging lab. How to pay comes with registration.
Yes — a parent or guardian stays on site for the whole day, so a grown-up is always there if anything comes up. School and camp groups can send one or two adult chaperones instead. Demos and awards at 17:15 are open to the whole family.
Teams of 1–3 — three is the sweet spot. Come with friends, join team matching on the morning, or go solo if you'd rather build alone.
